Never thought Medan, capital city of Sumatera Utara is a treasures for Colonial Heritage buildings. There are many of buildings that stand more than 100 years in Central yet the inside the Kampongs. Sadly, many of them are now abandoned and still not yet developed well. A glimpse of thought that Medan is now having a big development starting from the Pedestrian area, highway road, or mobility for the peoples. But still i saw the buildings are still left abandoned it is said for more than 50 years. Even tho, few of them are still well used and proving there is a living inside. I hope the development that goverment had would turn everything alive especially the adaptive reuse of the Heritage buildings. Better to have progressively development than the massive at one time. There was lesser tenant demand for private residential homes in 2023 due to slower growth in EP holders and the steep increase of almost 30% in rents in 2022. Some EP holders who have the luxury of working anywhere have moved to places such as Johor Bahru, Batam or even Bali.The number of non-landed rental contracts in 2023 is estimated to be 77,000, 9.1% lower than 2022 while the estimated number of landed rental contracts in 2023 is 4,500, 19.1% lower than 2022.Competition to retain and attract tenants heated up in 2H 2023 and many landlords held their rents steady to retain tenants.Nevertheless, the estimated new supply of homes next year is almost half of 2023. Site visits can be fun.This is my second time coming to this small town in Johor called Tangkak. Tangkak is a buzzing little city which is near the Tangkak exit of Plus highway and on the route to Muar. What can you see and get in little ol' Tangkak?🎨 Art work on the shop lots that are clearly from way back then.👔 Loads of clothing shops that sell cheap clothing....quite a lot of it. 🚛 Trucks. Just trucks everywhere cause they are out from Muar to the highway I suppose...Beef Noodle 🍜 yummy and something to try if you head down there☁️ Clear blue skies cause there's no tall buildings🧹 A nice and clean little city.My site visit is done and now heading to another site visit straight after.
