What is the difference between SIM4 and SIM4C? ›

The SIM4, SIM4X, and SIM4C buses are express bus routes that run between Manhattan and Staten Island, New York via the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, Gowanus Expressway and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. The SIM4 and SIM4X buses run during rush hour in the peak direction, while SIM4C buses operate during off-peak hours.

Fares – MetroCard® is accepted for all MTA New York City trains (including Staten Island Railway - SIR), and, local, Limited-Stop and +SelectBusService buses (at MetroCard fare collection machines). Express buses only accept 7-Day Express Bus Plus MetroCard or Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard.

The SIM1, SIM1C, SIM7, SIM10, and SIM11 bus routes constitute a public transit line in Staten Island and Manhattan, New York. The routes all operate on Richmond Avenue and Hylan Boulevard on Staten Island, but go to three separate terminals in Manhattan.

Express buses cost $7. Tap to pay your fare with your contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, or OMNY card, or pay with a MetroCard.
