Kinner & Stevens | Our Story | Southern Funeral Home (2024)
Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home has been an integral part of the Jena community since its establishment in 1927. Originally located at S 2nd St. and E. Oak, the funeral home was owned and operated by Mr. L.M. Kinner and Mr. M.G. Stevens, who dedicated themselves to serving families during their most challenging times.
In 1965, Mr. Jerry Stevens, the grandson of Mr. Kinner and son of Mr. Stevens, joined the professional staff, bringing a continued legacy of compassion and expertise to the community.
On August 5, 1982, Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home transitioned under the ownership of Southern Funeral Home, while still retaining its original location. This change allowed us to combine the rich history and traditions of Kinner & Stevens with the commitment to exceptional service that Southern Funeral Home has come to represent.
Today, Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home proudly stands as a symbol of heritage, deeply rooted in the Jena community. Our unwavering dedication to providing compassionate care remains unchanged as we serve families with the same integrity and respect that has defined us for generations.
At Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, we understand the importance of preserving the memories of your loved ones in a place that holds historical significance. That is why we continue to serve families at our original site, ensuring that the traditions and memories associated with Kinner & Stevens live on.
